Creative Stars Winners – November
Congratulations to our latest round of Creative Stars winners!
Our service user awards celebrate the people who shine brightly and do wonderful things for each other. We have four exciting category winners, who will receive a badge, £30 Love2Shop voucher and a certificate.
Congratulations to this month’s round of winners:
High Flyer Award
Gareth, Ashton-under-Lyne
Gareth has shown so much resilience overcoming issues with his physical health, and is this month’s high flyer! Through his sheer determination, Gareth is back to his old self and is an inspiration to all those around him.
Gareth has maintained his independence, proven himself to be incredibly resilient and managed so well when being out of routine for a few months.
Well done Gareth, everyone is so proud of you, and you should be proud of yourself!
“No matter what life throws at him, Gareth gets up with a big smile on his face.”
Positivity Award
Andrew Newsome, Blackpool
Always laughing and joking, Andrew brings so much positivity to the people around him and loves to cheer people up with his jokes.
Andrew was invited to tell some of his best jokes at last year’s Christmas party, and the feedback he got was so good they plan to do it again this year!
Everyone appreciates how much Andrew makes them smile and laugh with his unique jokes, and he’s always there to greet everyone with a friendly face.
“Andrew is one of the most positive people I have met.”
Eco-friendly Award
Mark, Denton
Mark has been part of his local allotment committee for the past three years, helping to maintain the site and keep the environment safe. He has made so many new friends, got to know people who live in the local area and his confidence has really grown!
Mark enjoys participating in committee meetings and putting ideas forward that will benefit everyone who uses the allotment.
His favourite thing is growing vegetables with the other tenants at the service, making tasty home-cooked meals with their produce and growing lots of new vegetables to try.
“Mark was really excited about the idea and wanted to give it a try.”
Community Champion Award
Paul Bourke, South Shields
Paul is this round’s community champion for his excellent response after a fire broke out in the garden of his block of flats. Paul was the first person to notice the fire and raised the alarm to let everyone know.
He alerted staff to deal with the situation before the fire could cause any serious damage or harm, and has done a fantastic job caring for the whole community in his service.
Well done Paul, you’re a hero for your community and you acted very bravely in an emergency!
“Paul has shown great understanding of the building’s fire safety protocols.”
