Bedford Celebrates Eid

In Bedford, everyone joined staff member Shareen in celebrating Eid!

All were impressed with Shareen’s homemade chicken biryani alongside other Eid delicacies.

Melanie found comfort in the taste of home. She said, “I am half-Burmese and half-Indian and this reminds me of home and my childhood.”

Trevor said, “I enjoyed celebrating Eid with Shareen. The food was delicious.”

Many people had not celebrated Eid before and they loved connecting through the shared experience.

Pine Court Fundraises for a Defibrillator

A big congratulations to Pine Court who have raised a whopping £590.00 to buy a defibrillator!

Registered Manager Sean recently did his First Aid refresher training and learned that if a person suffers a heart attack, the survival rate through CPR is 7%.

However, survival rate using a defibrillator rises to almost 70%. After Sean discussed this with his colleagues, they all agreed to raise money to purchase a defibrillator for the communal area of Pine Court.

What followed was a brilliant Easter Fun Day with a tombola, raffle, name the teddy, Easter egg hunt and a wonderful buffet.

The event was attended by residents from Pine Court, local neighbours, residents from Creative Support’s Wagtail Close service, and family members!

Businesses in the local area kindly donated raffle prizes. Thanks to Asda, The Merlin, Derby, Lodge At Alvaston, Greggs, Subway, Card Factory, The Blue Jay Pub, Restaurant and Hotel and Toby Carvery!

Sean says, “Thank you to all who supported our fundraising event. With your help, we have exceeded our expectations and we’ll be doing more fundraising events later on the year to reach our final target!”

A Fantastic Trip to Cadbury’s World

Ben, Laura and Lewis from Dudley had a tour of Cadbury World!

They found it really interesting to see how the famous chocolate is made and enjoyed a sample of melted chocolate with toppings of their choice.

They took photos with Cadbury’s Caramel Bunny and received free bars of chocolate to take home with them!
