Olympic-Themed Sporty Summer Extravaganza in Halifax
Services in Calderdale & Kirklees applied for our ‘Sporty Summer’ grant worth £300, and had a fun-filled afternoon taking part in Olympic-themed sports activities last Friday!
The afternoon couldn’t have gone better. People we support enjoyed several heats of an Egg and Spoon race followed by Tug of War, Basketball and much more!
Adam who we support in Halifax “loved flying through the air” during Long Jump, but the highlight of the day for many was Sponge Throwing. Just before Mark threw a soaking sponge at her face, Helen said, “don’t forget, Mark, we’re friends!”
With their Sporty Summer Grant, Creative Together bought medals and trophies for the winners and runner ups. Liam said, “It feels great to win an award.”
The stalls and activities raised an amazing £68.00 for future activities at the service. Well done everyone – we hope you had incredible day!

Making Memories and Mocktails at Bedford Pride
“Our Pride event brought together people of all ages and backgrounds, creating a safe and inclusive space where everyone could be themselves.”
With a lively and welcoming atmosphere, everyone arrived to Bedford’s Pride celebration in their most colourful outfits to celebrate their unique styles and individuality.
Staff member Happy spoiled everyone with her Jollof rice, and there was even a colourful mocktail bar where everyone could enjoy refreshing drinks.
There were stations with educational posters explaining the history of Pride, the meanings behind different flags and notable LGBTQ+ figures. Everyone had the opportunity to learn and appreciate the significance of Pride month.
Chair of ‘Creative Together’ Visits London Attractions
Adam from Calderdale had a spectacular day sightseeing last week in London after attending the Housing with Care finals!
Adam is Chair of Creative Together, a co-produced forum in Calderdale & Kirklees, who were shortlisted for the Tenant Co-Production Award.
After a great night at the awards, Adam and staff member Helen visited the Tate Modern, took a boat trip along the Thames and saw the Houses of Parliament.
The highlight, however, was when birds and squirrels ate from their hands in St James park!
Adam said: “Thank you for trip to London, I enjoyed it. I’ve never seen the Houses of Parliament, I was so pleased to see them.”
We hope you both had a great day and well done on your incredible achievement, Adam!
