My M.O.T Month
Everyone’s body is unique! An M.O.T doesn’t just have to be for cars – keeping up to date with your regular health checks is so important, and can give us some peace of mind that everything is working smoothly.
Check out our 2024 Journal here for a checklist of tests you can do to perform your very own M.O.T. These include dental checks, eye tests, medication reviews, skin checks and self-checks. If you notice something new, something unusual or something that hasn’t gone away, it’s best to inform your doctor and get a medical opinion.
Did you know that the NHS offer a free health check if you are aged between 40 and 74 and do not have any pre-existing health conditions? This can tell if you if you are at higher risk of certain health issues such as heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease and stroke. Anyone aged 14 or over who is on their doctor’s learning disability register can also have a free annual health check once a year.
