Annual General Meeting 2024

Annual General Meeting 2024

On the evening of Thursday 26th October, we held our Annual General Meeting at Creative Together, Creative Support’s co-production centre in Manchester. The Creative Support AGM is a relaxed and celebratory occasion, and provides an opportunity for the Board of Trustees, staff members and people we support to reflect on the organisation’s achievements over the past year.

Our Board of Trustees are appointed to oversee Creative Support. Each trustee contributes valued knowledge and experience from diverse fields, including health & social care, social housing, finance, consultancy, marketing and commerce.

Joolz Casey, Chair of the Board, welcomed us to the AGM. Joolz spoke about how the Board has developed, she said: “What is really noticeable about Creative Support is the continuation of effective leadership and spirit. As Trustees, we’ve established a really committed group with regular honest and open conversations.”

Previous Chair of the Board, Martin Igoe, came along to wish Creative Support well for the next year: “It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with the Exec Team and Board members. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. Keep up your good work.”

Rachael Corbelli was re-elected to serve another term as a Trustee. She said: “The Exec Team really embodies the values and culture of Creative Support. I’m proud to work with them. We’re going from strength to strength.”

Our CEO, Anna Lunts, delivered a presentation about the Annual Report with input from a number of Heads of Departments and Service Directors helped to deliver. It contained a number of highlights including our Investors in People accreditations – Gold for the whole organisation and Platinum for HR and Learning & Development, photos from fantastic co-produced sporty summer events held this year, and a list of the external awards our staff have won.

Creative Together centre member, Carolyn, read a moving poem she had written. The poem titled “This is Where We Begin” is inspired by a quote she saw in Manchester. She said, “The poem is about beginning a journey in the heart of the city, in the North of England, at Creative Together.”

Chris, who we support in Stockport, also attended the AGM. He is interested in co-production and hopes to set up a writing group. He said, “I just really believe in the people around me.”

Once the presentation had finished, everyone enjoyed some time catching up. Mahip, Service Director in London felt honoured to be in the room. He said, “I’m so proud of what my colleagues and the people I support achieve every day. Creative Support is not just a company, it’s a movement and a beacon.”
