Folks in Blackburn See Spectacular Kite Display

“I have always wanted to take my daughter to the kite festival, but didn’t have the confidence to drive there. I couldn’t believe it when Creative Support were organising to go. I loved the whole experience from the walk on the beach to fish and chips on the seafront and watching the amazing kites. I finally bought my daughter a kite!” – Lisa

Lisa, Sarah, Charlotte, Olivia, Michael, Saeqa and Damian who we support in Blackburn went to the spectacular annual kite festival on St Annes Beach near Blackpool!

Andy from Lancashire Wildlife Trust organised the trip with Creative Support. He usually takes a group of people we support out for a nature walk every Friday. The kite festival was a special occasion.

The seafront was awash with colour as kites took to the air on the beach adjacent to the pier. They were mesmerised by the huge shark and stingray kites which looked as if they were swimming in the sky!

Damian said, “I am happier than ever before with what Creative Support are doing for us now,” and Michael said, “It was great.”
Wow – we hope everyone enjoyed this brilliant and unique festival!

Michael, Ryan and Christina’s Sailing Adventure

Michael, Ryan and Christina in Leeds recently spent the week on a boat sailing the Norfolk Broads with Manager Matt and Senior Support Worker Samantha.

On their adventure with Silver Reflection, their boat, they made pit stops at various places including an animal sanctuary with friendly donkeys, Norwich Cathedral where they experienced Evensong and a pub or three!

In the evenings, they’d cook for each other as gorgeous sunsets were striped across the sky. During the day, they’d spot lots of wildlife and windmills. Everyone took a turn driving the boat too.

What an incredibly special experience – we’re jealous!

Kyle and Jerome Look Back on a Jam-packed Summer

Whether it was racing bikes, meeting donkeys, or flying kites, Kyle and Jerome in Salford have had one jam-packed summer. Here’s a round-up of their adventures!

Kyle had a smashing time at Wheels for All in Salford, cycling around an outdoor track, gaining confidence with each lap. This has become a weekly activity for Kyle, and a new favourite hobby. He also visited St Anne’s Beach in Blackpool, bumped into some donkeys saddled up on the sand and gave them a pat.

Jerome loves big open spaces and has enjoyed walks around Ashworth Moor reservoir in Lancashire as well as Kersal Wetlands in Salford. How peaceful!

The two of them have encouraged their whole service to visit new places around Greater Manchester. They all went to Peel Tower, a monument in Holcombe. Bet it felt great to climb the hill and see Manchester in the distance!

What an amazing summer – we love your enthusiasm and hearing about your trips!
