Mo Mental Health

Movember takes place every November, raising awareness of men’s health issues, including mental health. The Movember charity provides expert information to help men live happier, healthier and longer lives.

Did you know that 12.5% of men in England are experiencing a mental health issue? Men are also more likely to hide the things they’re facing from others which may be down to how society expects men to behave, or factors such as racism.

Through our Year of Living Well, we have explored tools and techniques to help our mental health and wellbeing. In April, we looked at ways we can manage stress. You can take a look here to find some techniques we can use to reduce our stress. One of the techniques we explored was how to practice mindfulness. Learn more about mindfulness, the practice of returning again and again to the present moment, here.

Why not have a little fun this November and grow or make a moustache? Growing a moustache is the Movember charity’s symbol for better men’s health – the ‘mo’ in ‘Movember’ stands for moustache. If you can’t grow one, you can make your own moustache out of paper and decorate it however you want.

Don’t forget to send our Communications Team a photo of what you get up to this Movember!
