Creative Stars – December Winners!
Congratulations to our latest round of Creative Stars winners!
Our service user awards celebrate the people who shine brightly and do wonderful things for each other. We have four exciting category winners, who will receive a badge, £30 Love2Shop voucher and a certificate.
Congratulations to this month’s round of winners:
High Flyer Award
Matty Banks, Doncaster
Matty has achieved an incredible amount in the past six months at his service. He wanted to develop more cooking skills, so he enrolled in a college catering course last August. The things he has learned have impressed everyone, from food preparation and high level cooking to front of house techniques. He has found he especially loves experimenting with flavours and different foods.
Not stopping there, Matty was extremely committed to the course and took several exams, including ones on food allergies, hygiene and safety, as well as a practical exam. His poached egg and avocado starter, followed by coriander soup, earned him a City & Guilds Level 1 certificate.
Superb achievements, Matty!
“This is a great achievement, especially for his confidence as a chef.”
Eco-friendly Award
Fitzwilliam Court, Barnsley
The wonderful tenants at Fitzwilliam Court collectively decided to support a charity close to their hearts, and help the planet at the same time. Pooling together all of their old Christmas cards, they donated them to the Beat Macular Disease charity and managed to fill a huge air fryer box. This huge achievement has led to supporting a great charity and simultaneously reduce Christmas waste going into the landfill.
“All the tenants have been really engaged and helped a good cause.”
Positivity Award
Michael C, Liverpool
Going into 2025, Michael decided to make some notable changes to his lifestyle. He has worked hard to clear his room and create a space that feels like home.
His cheerful attitude while tidying and organising has been an inspiration to many at the service. Not only has Michael transformed his own space, but he also wanted to brighten up the service for others. He has displayed his canvases on the walls and placed his record player and collection in the communal lounge for everyone to enjoy.
Thank you for the high spirits you bring to your service, Michael. Everyone is grateful for your cheery presence.
“We are also so proud of Michael’s positive progress.”
Community Champion Award
Sammie Fearon, Doncaster
Sammie is such a vital person at his service, coordinating activities and bringing people together. Thanks to Sammie’s encouragement and efforts, everyone has been getting closer recently.
Over Christmas, he championed the Secret Santa for his housemates, ensuring that everyone had the opportunity to both give and receive a gift.
Well done, Sammie, you really are a great friend to so many!
“Sammie brings smiles to everyone’s faces.”
