Support Worker
We are recruiting Support Workers to provide person-centred care and support to tenants with learning disabilities and autism in Ulverston, helping them take part in all aspects of everyday life and enjoy a wide range of activities. You will demonstrate positive communication and engagement, showing unconditional positive regard for the young people we support.
With maturity, you will work within a positive behavior support framework, accept responsibility, and grow in confidence as a skilled practitioner. You will follow agreed guidelines and work positively within a consistent, mutually supportive team ethos.
Our flexible working arrangements include a rota with evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins. Additionally, we offer numerous opportunities for personal and career development in a supportive, hands-on management culture. This role includes embracing all aspects of the position, such as supporting personal care, domestic tasks, and community activities like walking, swimming, and eating out.
While prior experience in this field is beneficial, it is not a substitute for a person-centred approach. We value the personal skills and interests you bring to the role, such as sports, outdoor pursuits, creative arts, music, and cooking, which enrich the lives of service users. Adaptability is key, as you must be able to support individuals who may express their needs through challenging behavior at times.
The service is conveniently accessible by car, bus routes from Ulverston centre, and the train station. You can choose to be paid on a weekly or monthly basis.
