Creative Support Modern Slavery Statement

This statement has been published in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the Modern Slavery Act (Transparency in Supply Chains) Regulations 2015.  It sets out the position and steps taken by Creative Support Group to prevent Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking in its organisation and supply chains.

Introduction                                     

Creative Support has a zero tolerance approach to Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking of any kind within its operations and supply chains.  It is expected that staff will act, both in their capacity as citizens and as employees, on any suspicions they may have that individuals are victims of exploitation, human trafficking or slavery, by reporting their concerns immediately to the police and/or social services

Employees are encouraged to seek further advice from Creative Support’s Director of Safeguarding, Jackie Nixon, should they require any support with reporting concerns relating to modern slavery.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Creative Support is a not-for-profit organisation with a strong commitment to developing and delivering person-centred services for people with care and support needs and preventative services for people who are at risk of social exclusion.

Our society was established in 1990 as “Manchester Housing Consortium” to develop a range of housing and support services for people with mental health needs, and we achieved charitable status in 1991.

In January 2012 we were registered as a provider of social housing by the TSA (now HCA) and manage high quality homes.

Training & Awareness

Creative Support specifically covers the Modern Slavery Act training within its Safeguarding policies and training for staff.

Policies and Controls

Modern slavery is addressed explicitly in our corporate Safeguarding of Adults at Risk, Safeguarding of Children and Young People and Whistleblowing policies.  We routinely review and update our policies and controls to address the risks from Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking, which also include our Recruitment and Selection, Complaints and Compliments and Customer Care policies.

Procurement

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate the risks of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking we will undertake routine assessments of our supply chain to identify high risk areas and develop appropriate action plans.
