Creative Stars – April
Congratulations to our latest round of Creative Stars winners!
Our service user awards celebrate the people who shine brightly and do wonderful things for each other. We have four exciting category winners, who will receive a badge, £30 Love2Shop voucher and a certificate.
Congratulations to this month’s round of winners:
High Flyer Award
Beth, Preston
Beth is this month’s high flyer for working so hard to meet her goals, settling into the community and adapting to the area she lives in.
Beth has been gradually building her independence, making her own brews, taking the bus, spending time on her own and taking part in activities! She has a proactive approach to following her meal plans, committing to healthy meal options to maintain a well-balanced diet.
This is an outstanding achievement for Beth, and her staff are so proud of her for smashing her goals. Well done!
“Congratulations on doing so well, we are all so proud of Beth!”
Positivity Award
Andrew, Bedford
Andrew is the “heart and soul” of his home, spreading warmth and laughter wherever he goes. With a “gentle yet mischievous” sense of humour, he never fails to brighten everyone’s day and lift their spirits.
With a generosity that “knows no bounds,” Andrew is quick to lend a helping hand or empathetic ear to those in need, showing his “caring nature that extends beyond words.” Whether it’s sharing a joke or offering words of encouragement, Andrew makes everyone feel valued and appreciated, fostering a sense of “belonging and camaraderie that is truly priceless.”
His “infectious positivity” creates a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that “truly makes their house a home”- wonderful work Andrew, you are a true positivity champion!
“Andrew’s presence is a beacon of light in our home, guiding us through challenges with grace and humour.”
Eco-friendly Award
Cassie Gill, Middlesbrough
Passionate about helping the environment, Cassie hates to see any rubbish discarded as she knows this is damaging to the planet and hurts the animals.
Cassie regularly goes litter picking at multiple places to help in any way she can! She collects between one to two bags of rubbish every time she goes out, and has even been encouraging her fellow tenants to join in.
At their latest service user forum, Cassie suggested a competition to see who could collect the most bags of rubbish over the year- a great idea!
“Cassie is actively doing her part to help.”
Community Champion Award
Douglas Wilson, Redcar
Douglas is a fundraising champion, having personally raised money for Cancer Research by taking part in the Boxing Day Dip last year, braving the cold December sea to raise money.
Douglas also fundraises with Skills for People, volunteering with multiple organisations. Recently, Douglas has been attending a self-advocate program, where the group discuss multiple projects and also focus on what it means to be confident.
Fantastic work Douglas, you’re really doing your part to give back to the community.
“Douglas does multiple lots of fundraising.”
