Global Volunteer Day 2024
For Global Impact Day on 15th May, volunteers from Fanatics Inc. renovated the garden at one of our mental health services in Longsight, Greater Manchester.
Fanatics is a global digital sports platform. In 2022, Fanatics introduced Global Volunteer Day, an annual day where employees volunteer to make a lasting impact in their local community. They build houses, plant gardens, help those who are food insecure and much more. They visited four Creative Support services, and we spoke with those in Longsight working on a garden which needed some love.
“I’m very grateful for the Fanatics volunteers coming to tidy up our gardens, so the people we support will have a nicer outdoor area to sit in,” said Mary, Project Manager at our Longsight service. Volunteers worked hard removing weeds, picking up rubbish and planting new seeds so residents can enjoy time outside this summer.

“We’re all here today as part of Fanatics’ Global Volunteer Day Fanatics. This is one of hundreds of sites across the world where Fanatics volunteers are doing their bit to help others. Charities such as Creative Support are close to us because they are local and facilitate amazing support for people with mental health issues.” – Michael, Head of Marketing at Fanatics

“Not every service has the time and energy to keep on top of their garden, so it’s great to be making a positive impact, especially for people struggling with mental health. The residents deserve a peaceful, safe outdoor space where they can enjoy the sounds of nature. This feels meaningful.” –Alex, Copywriter at Fanatics

“At Fanatics, we’re very much about giving back to the community. I think it’s really important not just for our company to give back, but for every company to give back. We’ve got a symbiotic relationship with the community and projects like this really do help local people. For me, I think giving back gives you so much more than receiving things. The good feeling last longer.” – Daniel (right)
