We are looking for warm, caring and compassionate individuals to empower to people with a range of care needs to live independent and fulfilling lives. Our service in Sunderland covers two supported living houses in the Houghton-Le-Spring and Hendon areas, which provide 24-hour support to our vibrant service users. At this service in Sunderland we provide quality care and support to individuals with learning disabilities and mental health support needs.

To provide this care we require warm, motivated and person centred individuals with a keen interest in providing personalised support to meet individual care plans. Individuals requires support 24 hours a day. There is an alarm system in place at one service for one service user to alert their epilepsy seizures.

Your role will include:
– Supporting individuals with all aspects of daily living including cooking and cleaning,
– To provide excellent, respectful personal care to service users and assisting service users in the administration and monitoring of prescribed medication,
– Encourage individuals to engage in a wide range of exciting activities at home and out in the community,
– Work within a positive behaviour support framework, to accept responsibility and to grow in confidence as a skilled practitioner,
– Full time or part time permanent positions available, to be worked flexibly according to the needs of the service, this may include sleep in shifts.

Prior experience is not required as we provide full and ongoing training. Our service in Sunderland, Tyneside has great public transport links.
